Rana George is a professional Lenormand reader with over 30 years' experience reading Lenormand. She is a respected Lenormand teacher, and a consultant on several Lenormand decks. It is her extensive Lenormand knowledge and experience that she presents in The Essential Lenormand.
Does “The Essential Lenormand” review more than just card meanings?
Rana provides detailed information on each card meaning, including insights into the card, Rana's personal experience with the card, how it is read in a Grand Tableau, a few combinations, and example readings.
However, The Essential Lenormand goes far beyond being a list of card meanings. It also provides detailed information covering everything from how to pick a deck, how to ask the best questions during readings, steps for learning to read Lenormand, guidance on how to create Lenormand combinations, and several spreads.
You can really tell Rana's vast experience reading and teaching Lenormand by how much detailed information is provided. It's clear a lot of thought went into the organization of the book and exactly what you need to know in order read Lenormand proficiently.

Criticisms of “The Essential Lenormand”
Are there some things I would have liked to see that aren't included in the book?
It would have been nice to have seen some information on the playing card insets on the cards. Maybe something about how they relate to Lenormand readings, their history of being on Lenormand cards, or something similar.
Does that make the book less complete for me?
No! It's a very detailed, complete, well-organized guide to reading Lenormand.
The Essential Lenormand could very well be the only book you need on Lenormand. It's definitely the first book you should purchase.
